Take in consideration your work commute; how early you’re waking up; what other regular tasks do you need to do like walking the dog. Scheduling is the step that takes planning a step further. This step is for keeping you going after you started, and thankfully it’s very simple. Plan your days so you don’t end up hitting the same area over and over every day. The ideal formula is to alternate the body areas so you hit one thing one day, and another the next. Some common examples are a push day & pull day, or an upper body & lower body day. This way one set of muscles gets to relax & recover while the other works hard. One of the biggest reasons why people fall off their routines is they don’t have a way of keeping themselves moving forward when the going gets tough. The biggest piece of advice here is to be honest with yourself. Know what will keep you coming and what won’t. Some people need a friend to go workout with, others need an event or contest to train for. Everybody’s different, so they key is to find out what’s important for you and make it happen!
